Joel and Carol Silberman are Associate Pastors of Christian Family Fellowship International Church (Web site) located in Farmingdale, New York. They are founders of Tenderhearted Ministries and have a desire to see people experience the healing of the Lord Jesus Christ for their individual lives. Joel and Carol also minister to the body of Christ as Licensed Clinical Pastoral Counselors. They are members of the National Christian Counselors Association and The American Association of Christian Counselors.
| Both Joel and Carol have been through the trauma of divorce. Having been raised Catholic, Carol came into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ at the age of twenty seven through attending a neighborhood women’s Bible study. She learned to trust in the Lord during those challenging years of raising and providing for her two sons as a single parent. Carol believed in God’s great plan for her life based on Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you, plans for good, to give you a future and a hope.” Being firmly grounded in the Word, she is now seeing this promise fulfilled. |

For over seventeen years, Carol faithfully ministered to women through a home based Bible study. She also began a women’s support group, to help women through their co-dependency and the various other issues they were facing. Carol completed her Masters degree in Clinical Christian Counseling and is currently working on her Doctorate in the same field.
Joel was raised in the Jewish faith, and at the age of thirty five came to know Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. While his spiritual journey began through the Twelve-Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous (“A.A.”), he found fulfillment through his acceptance of Jesus Christ as Messiah and attended a Messianic Congregation where he led worship for eight years.
While recovering from his divorce and raising his three children, Joel became involved in prison ministry, guiding men to emotional healing while experiencing the same in his own life. Joel’s heart is to see this healing spoken of in Matthew 4:23 – “Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness among the people,” come forth for all people.
Joel has facilitated several Christ centered Twelve-Step groups and continues to be actively involved in A.A. throughout Long Island as well as bringing the love of Christ to those confined in prison. He has a heart to see men experience healing and wholeness.
Through Tenderhearted Ministries, which can be seen throughout Long Island on Cable television, Joel and Carol continue to have a vision to reach the world with healing, wholeness, restoration, and reconciliation that is given to us through the Lord Jesus Christ. |
